Our
STORY

-
Spring Harbor Publishing is a small, independent, non-profit organization of independent authors providing quality, family friendly reading material.
-
It is important to our authors that their readers receive quality reading without the overuse of profanity, sexual content, violence, and the like (except if necessary). And when suchlike is used, it is to be noted for the reader.
-
That’s our standard. Simply clean, quality reading.
-
Our authors retain the rights to their works. And lots of encouragement (with a few other perks such as helping with their book covers).
-
Before contacting us, please be aware and become familiar with the basics of the publishing world of today. Most traditional and hybrid publishers require a contract that holds an author’s book rights for a period, usually from three to ten years. Since Spring Harbor is an independent, non-profit organization, we do not require such a contract. The author will always retain the rights to their work enabling her/him to market their works in the way they see fit i.e., whenever/however/wherever they choose.
-
All royalty payments belong to the author, not Spring Harbor Publishing. Royalties are earned through the author's ability to market their products through various avenues such as book sales, speaking engagements, and other creative venues. Self-marketing is also a growing trend in the traditional and non-traditional publishing climate; as well as needing a large social media following, which we do not require. Nor do we require any previously published works.
-
However we do require that our soon-to-be authors submit an edited manuscript that is pristine and ready for publishing. All manuscript editing/proofing is that individuals responsibility. This is now the growing standard in the publishing world.
-
Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot provide our authors advancements as some traditional publishers might. We are an independent non-profit organization.
-
We are closed for the 2023 Submission season. If you would like to be notified when we are open for the next round of openings, you may contact us at: Springharborpublishing@Outlook.com
